This is an issue that has persisted over the years, and has never actually impacted the function of my audiobox. I'm asking now because my roommate pointed out that I've never actually figured out why this happens.
Anyways, almost every time I plug my audiobox into my computer it makes a loud squealing sound for a second. Not the audio outputs, but the actual box itself. Sometimes when this happens the audiobox doesn't seem to connect properly with my computer, prompting me to unplug and plug in again. Upon plugging in again, I'll hear a quieter and much shorter squeal.
He also pointed out that the audio quality of my audiobox is not fantastic compared to his interface (which is admittedly a much more expensive and professional interface), but made the point that the squealing could be the result of damaged inputs or DAC's. This last point doesn't sound realistic to me...
Mine is the audiobox 22vsl. If anyone has any input on why this sound is happening, I'm all ears.
