Is there any way to use Quantum on an AMD Ryzen Threadripper windows computer? USB 3.1 adapter?

Edit:

Let me be more specific. Thunderbolt is proprietary to intel and therefore is not featured on AMD motherboards. My question asks if the use of adapters will be successful. In theory, there is a possibility that it could work. Quantum is being advertised as backwards compatible with thunderbolt 1 (10gbs). USB 3.1 Gen 2 is also 10gbs. So. Is there anyone cool enough to tell me they know for sure one way or the other before I conduct a $1000 experiment on my own?
