Need to be able to create a MONO cue mix.  All stereo wastes too many outputs, and most cues are sent mono anyway.

Nothing in he release notes notes about mono cues...  You can not add a mono cue in the audio setup.

As far as I can tell, Mono cue mixes do not exist in version 3 or in version 4.  They must be stereo in order for the Cue mix checkbox to appear in the Audio Setup screen.  Of course, if your interface has more outputs you can choose to use them as additional Cue mixes, but only with Pre/Post fader aux sends and not designated Cue mix objects.  I do this in my setup so I can create "more me" mixes in addition to the stereo Cue mix.  The downside, you can't use low latency monitoring with normal aux sends.

I use a Focusrite 18i20 and therefore am forced to go through their Scarlett Mix Control.  S1 and SMC appear to be quite incompatible when it comes to cue mixes.  It just flat doesn't work.  Don't mix these two products if you plan on recording more than one or two inputs at a time.

Currently I don't have a physical digital mixer for my live performing band.

In the meantime I buy one, i need cue mixes in MONO for my musicians, I only have 8 outs (4 stereo cue mixes) and we are 6 musicians.

We need the cue mixes for the low latency monitoring feature and the capability of adjust each cue mixes through the studio one remote app (for each musician).

TEMPORARY WORKAROUND... What I did as a workaround was to create two stereo cue mixes named Monitor 1 and Monitor 2. In the insert of each, I put an instance of dual pan and panned one hard left and one hard right. If anyone does this, just remember than any effects that you want to add directly to the either of the cues need to be placed before the dual pan, or else your effects will throw it into stereo again.
