In short: Provide somewhere in the song file where users can capture mono-spaced text - for tabs or whatever else.

Currently, anyone capturing guitar/bass tabs for their songs songs have to keep them in a separate TXT (or other tab-focused) file, accessed completely outside of Studio One. This is far from ideal. Would be great to have of capturing tabs within the S1 Song file itself, for easier access & sharing.

Possible implementation approaches include:

Option 1: Allow changing to a mono-spaced font in the Song Info > Notes window

Access to a mono-spaced font would allow users to write basic tabs directly into the song notes, which is better than nothing. A lot of people wouldn't want it all mono-spaced though, which is why giving even 2 font options to choose from would be great.
Users can actually already change the font in that panel by right-clicking, but it just returns to the default as soon as it saves!

Option 2: Let users import TXT files into the Pool

If users could load a reference to TXT files into the Song's Pool, then just double-click to open them, that would provide a good level of connectivity between the two. Would also work well for to-do lists, lyrics, or other things that people want to separate from the Song Notes.

Option 3: A dedicated 'Tabs' part of the Song Info window

Even if that were just a mono-spaced text window, similar to the Notes tab, it would be a start.

Option 4: Integration with PreSonus' Progression

Looks like Progression already provides more than enough tab-capture functionality to cover the need here, but there's no way to integrate it with Studio One. It would just create a separate file, which is hardly better than the separate TXT file approach.

Would be great to see this integrated with S1 (e.g. providing a UI that can be opened/closed as part of the song file, saving the resulting tab/score data directly into the song file itself). The level of integration already done for Notion seems rather more complex than necessary here.

Any other suggestions for how this could be implemented are welcome!
