I've fought with this numerous times, if it's on the same computer and it just started it's a bear to fix, usually because you have moved the usb connection. if it's a new install the thing I have found is what you are using for playback, can't explain it, but.. if use use vlc, or whatever nightmare microsoft has for a new player it's a problem. if you use old school media player it's ok. just went thru this on a new laptop transfer. i run all my music thru a laptop, thru a high end stereo system. hope this helps. can't explain. maybe someone else can give insight
