It would be awesome if we could reset / clear the position of the orange Edit Cursor during playback. Specifically, the orange Edit Cursor that appears when you use that Range Select tool during playback (as spelled out in the Version 3.2.3 Release Notes from June 9, 2016).

It is very useful for doing copy and paste operations during playback but some edit commands for splitting and audio editing that I use in macros ( Edit | Split at Cursor for example) will always be performed at the orange edit cursor. Once it's activated on the timeline, only stopping and restarting playback seems to get rid of it.

For context, during writing sessions with other writers, I perform a lot of edits and adjustments while playing back 8-24 bar loops of music. We try to let the loop continue as different writers are simultaneously ironing out different aspects of the song over the same loop. So having a way to reset the Edit Cursor would open up lots of possibilities for editing during playback.
