Hi, Presonus team,

1. I would like to know if the mic inputs of my AR 16 are balanced or not? And where is it  written - I have found only "XLR Female, class A"? I would like to use a DI (in my case - Palmer PAN 02). The big advantage of using a DI is that it has an balanced output, that has to be connected to a balanced mic input of the mixer (of course, with balanced cable). Will this work with AR 16?

2. Are the Main outputs of AR 16 balanced or not - it is written, that they are "impedance balanced"? What is the difference to a normal "balanced" cable? And should I use balanced cable to connect these Main outputs to an amplifier?

Regards, Boyko

All XLR Microphone inputs OR XLR Based Line Level outputs on any device will always be 'balanced' ( This is an understood spec and does not need to be presented, since it's considered 'common knowledge') Only exception to this is High Impedance 1/4" Mic inputs, like those found on consumer grade stereo systems or mixers.

Impedance Balanced means the output matching the impedance of the cable you are using. It knows if you use Balanced or Non-balanced cables.
