Question

I have MacBook Pro running El Capitan with Studio One v3 and Apogee Symphony i/o. I was told by Apogee techs that older OS versions would most likely lower latency. My question is what is the best OS that I can run and still run Studio One v3? If the gain is only nominal I will probably just stay with El Capitan but I am curious to hear opinions and any advice/experience with running older OS to gain speed/lower latency.
