Classic SL24.4.2 Firmware1.0 Build195 FW via Best Connectivity Express Card tested ok through Toshiba Satellite350. HP Elitebook 2740p Win7SP1 UC1.7.2 Need drivers to activate VSL.

 

On the Toshiba, Win Update took about 10 minutes to find drivers. With the HP, the search came back no driver found. We're close, but not quite there. Why not use the 350. It's old, slow, and has a loose power connection - not ideal for live audio.

The HP Elitebook 2740p may not have a compatible 1394 chip. HP switched over to JMicron back in 2010 and that chipset does not work for 1394 audio from any audio vendor.

It's possible that it's from a different vendor. however HP also used to use NEC which was also notoriously bad for 1394 audio.
