PC Optical to ADAT in not getting sound

Im using a new Studio 192 Mobile and I am trying to utilize the optical i/o available for this device. I'm running a cable from the optical out on my pc sound card into the adat input on the presonus. I am not getting any kind of signal. Am I misunderstanding the optical I/O on this device some how?

The sound card optical out may be SPDIF and not ADAT.  Are you 100% positive it is ADAT?
