Hey guys,

I was just wondering and interested to know why, for like 2 years now, the installer in my Studio One is broken for me. I mean the one you can use on the Start Page to download the included Studio One instruments, manuals, etc. I tried downloading one by one, downloading several products at once, running S1 as admin and then doing it, but the transfers always fail.

I was just wondering why this is happening, as about 2 years back when I first got S1 it was working, but then it eventually stopped working. I saw a lot of other people are having this issue, and I'm aware that you can download the instruments through the site through your Presonus account, which is what I do (for S1 daw updates too).

So I know the workaround and solution to this but I was just interested to know if this is a really common issue and what the cause might be if anyone knows, as it's kind of a shame I cant get this feature to work at all.

Thanks!

Hello.  Speaking personally, I can't say I have had difficulty with downloading updates and installing them from the start page.  (It never defaults to my custom installation folder though.)  However, there is a workaround to combat these issues.  It involves ignoring the update alert and downloading direct from the Presonus download page on your account.  When I say ignore the alert, I mean just not using the start page, but going straight to the source.  From Presonus' own web pages you can download previous versions or the latest build, depending on your taste.  I know it's not ideal but it will allow you to use the latest build.  However, that is likely to be the last update to version 4 now that 5 has been released.  I hope that helps.
