Okay, I figured it out. For some reason there were 2 automations, one in the track view (where autmatoins of vsts "usually" show up) and one in the "drum midi roll" view of my impact xt instrument (next to velocity, modulation etc.). Not sure how I managed to get 2 different automations going.
