Question

I'm considering signing up for Sphere primarily to collaborate with a musician who uses S1 version 4.  This my first DAW.  I've heard that v4 and v5 don't play well together so I'm wondering if I should just purchase the version 4 license off someone else or if there is a work around between the 2 different versions.  Simplicity is key! Thanks!

A file saved in Studio One 5 will not open in Studio One 4. It will give an error that it was created in a newer version. But if you use exported wave files it wouldn't matter.

S1 v4 does not support collaboration with V5.  Both people need to be running v5 to use the remote collaboration via sphere.  So if you upgrade to Sphere (i.e. v5) and your collaborator uses v4, then there will be no access to remote collaboration.
