I'm trying to perform the operations that Rich Crescenti does in his youtube training video "Melodyne in Studio One (1/4): Creating a tempo map".

I have multiple tracks in Studio One 5 where the tempo varles slightly. I'm trying to tempo map that variation and apply it to my projects tempo track.

I can see WHERE things go wrong, I'm just not sure why.

I follow Rich's instructions, In Melodyne Studio 5 I align my first downbeat to bar 2. I listen to the result in Melodyne and the metronome click matches each downbeat perfectly throughout the track. When I leave Note assignment mode and go to Track Mode, I notice the bar 2 is no longer aligned to the downbeat. But when I watch Rich's video, the same thing happens to him, but when he copies the tempo from his track that was just edited in Melodyne, the downbeat re-aligns back to the correct spot (bar 3 in his example) This re-alignment  shows up in Melodyne and in Studio One. When I do the same thing, The audio in my track remains shifted from the downbeat. The result is the metronome click in Studio One is way off.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

BTW All tracks are in Don't Follow mode when I enter Melodyne.

Thanks for the help.

You got to confirm the tempo in note assignment mode before dragging your new tempo map to S1 tempo track. You confirm it by kicking on the little arrow to open the menu beside the tempo information in the Melodien plug-in. There you find the option to confirm the assigned tempo.
