The Firestudio is working great in Windows10 using a PCI express card to firewire adapter and I have a older (Firewire) Firepod I can pick up TODAY for $40. My question is has anyone daisy chained older and newer recording interfaces together successfully?  If I connect them using 1394 400 without Windows drivers..... since the're aren't any,  I'm asking... is it possible the older unit will just work through or with what ever the existing newer Firestudio uses or do they really not connect together.at all.. and are actually very separate interfaces.duh   I know this is a pretty random question but stranger... much stranger things have happened and worked for me and for $40. ($300-400 on E-bay)....Its worth a shot, don't you think? ThanX in advance,     Bob Hicks.... San Pedro CA.   Toshiba Qosmio x505 Intel i5 at 240Ghz, 8 gigs ram, Win 10x64 in new clean install on 7200rpm HDD and PCI Express to firewire works perfect...Studio One 3.2, Universal 7.2

Everything is current and updated.

RobertThicks2,

This is not possible, as the 2 devices utilize different chipsets internally as well as two separate drivers; which do not allow them to be chained together as you are looking to do. This type of daisy chaining has never been supported, due to these two factors.

Additionally, the Firepod does not have any compatible drivers for Win10; as OS support stopped with the release of Windows 8:

You could however, look for an FSProject, and be able to chain them together. They not only use the same driver, but the same chipsets inside.
