Hi  Please help.   I have a old Roland D-20 synthesizer as I want to update with the factory preset sounds. I have downloaded a midifile (.mid) from Roland and put the file in a track created for my external D-20 device. But it do not work. I can not see the midi data in the track and Studio one 5  do not send the data. How to do  ?

The data in the .mid file is comprised of sysex (system exclusive) messages so you are not going to see anything in the track.  The track will look empty.

You then need to verify that your output device configuration in Studio One for your D-20 is not filtering out sysex messages.

Finally, you need to ensure that your D-20 is set to receive sysex messages and that you have turned off memory write protection.
