Should we purchase a 16.4.2 with a bad display and no software?

Looking at purchasing a used 16.4.2 but the display on the unit is lit but nothing on it . Is there a quick fix on this or should I just stay away? He also states there is no software for the unit and it is not listed on the download page as I believe it is no the AI version.

Keep in mind the classic mixers are not being repaired anymore.
