Question

When you click on the '+' button on a mixing console channel to add an Insert, the following screen pops up, where plugins are searchable and organized into folders, so that you can easily get the plugin you are looking for. 

For doing this very same thing, there is a command "Console >> Add Insert" which can be assigned keyboard shortcut as shown below :

But when you execute this command, the following screen pops up where you can't search plugins and they aren't organized into folders either :

Basically, a list of every plugin in a series to scroll through endlessly to find what I am looking for. It makes this command pretty much unusable. 

So my feature request is to simply give the same screen upon "Add Insert" command execution as what you get when you click the '+' icon. This would make the command actually usable. At this point, its pretty much useless and I'd like to assign a keyboard shortcut to it and actually use that.

I could be wrong, but I think that command is mostly meant for macros.  If you make a macro, it should give you the option to select which plugin and even preset will load.  I remember reverse engineering one of the Presonus “add plugin” macros, and IIRC, there might have been another command used instead “add insert”.  Might have been like “insert fx on selected channel or something.  If you go into the macro editor, find the Presonus macros to add plugins, you can hit edit and copy those steps.

The macro editor needs serious improvement in general.  I use bettertouchtool on Mac to do my macros.  I can save my BTT preferences and keyboard shortcut prefs and easily load them into another system without needing to copy the user macro files, which I never remember to do after adding new macros.

Yes, yes, yes. Please make the shortcut function in the exact same way as clicking the + on the inserts dropdown. Show search, favorites, recents, sort by, etc.

Totally agree. The dropdown list is pretty useless, but the plus button is great and needs to be assignable to a keyboard shortcut!
