Hi,

A very basic newbie question: I can create an  instrument track and edit midi notes onto it and this process automatically creates an event on that track. But what are my options for starting a second (and subsequent) event? I can't find anything called 'add new event' and whatever I do seems to just extend the original event. Obviously I m not understanding something very basic ...

You can double click anywhere on the track arrangement to create a new event. Also you can just put your timeline cursor to wherever you wanna record and start recording. This will automatically create the event at appropriate place on the track.
