I wish I never bought this interface, even at -10 gain the guitar is clipping, got it because it was slightly cheaper than scarlett and now I gotta sell this useless thing to get that one instead just to record guitars.

Presonus in general may be a good company but audiobox 96 is the worst interface you can buy for that budget.

If you play the guitar, especially metal, don't buy this.

I doubt that the gain structure of the pre amps on the Scarlett are any different.

My guess is that you are sending it a signal that is too hot.
