I have the Audiobox USB 96 and an Ipad pro 10.5 (2017)
I am using Garageband, the camera otg adapter with the female usb and female lightning connector ports.
previously, my unit would not power up when connected to the camera adapter, even with a lightning cable inserted into the camera adapter and plugged into the apple charging block. The only thing that would happen is that the ipad would begin charging. The usb96, however, would not light up.
One youtuber said that you need a 4way usb hub. tried that. no power to the 96.
then i tried a powered usb hub. viola… usb96 now has power.
BUT, ipad still didn’t recognize it and i see no option in garage band (is it under external? only ntrack is there).
Yes, the unit works on my windows computer. But i want to use it with my ipad for otg purposes. Besides, Garageband isn't on windows. To do that I’d have to virtual machine it and im not looking to do all that.
I have called Presonus several times and have been in communication with a tech but they have been quite unhelpful.
First, i was given a link to connect iOne / iTwo devices and connecting an ipad and a computer at the same time… - That wasn’t my issue. Besides, that was a totally pointless post in the knowledge base. When you click on the question, it takes you to a very short paragraph that bluntly says you cant. It also provides two other links that take you to an oops page doesn’t exist message.
Then they send me a link on compatibility and diff configs for connecting it. A page I have already seen several times before i called the first time. Had they actually read my ticket, they would know how i am connected.
Im sorry if I sound aggressive and impatient but I am losing interest in this product. I cant use it. I feel like I have wasted my money and a lot of my time. And the “help” isn’t helping. This post is my last attempt before I return this device.
So, my question here is, has anyone had any success connecting a presonus usb96 to an ipad pro 10.5? and how?
I am using:
- a powered usb 3.0 hub with 7 slots and a dedicated charging slot. it comes with its own power adapter that goes into the wall.
- apple lighting to usb camera adapter (with pass through)
- Audiobox usb 96
- garageband (version 2.3.14 5224)
- ipad pro 10.5 2017 (version 16.3.1)
