Support for using RM-series mixers in a secure network environment

There are several networking features of the RM-series mixers that are not sophisticated enough to allow the devices to function within a network environment that implements pragmatic best practices for network security. These best practices include:

  • Hidden wireless network (SSID is not broadcast)
  • Access control on router based on device Mac Address

The current RM-series networking limitations require the wireless network SSID to be broadcast before the devices can be attached. Additionally, neither the ethernet interface nor the wifi dongle ship with their Mac Address published, so access control cannot be easily configured.

Feature requests:

1. Allow a hidden wifi network to be manually added in UC Control Network Settings when attaching an RM-series mixer, and have that hidden network cached on the device allowing it to reattach on subsequent reboots.

2. Provide Mac Addresses for all network interfaces on the devices allowing their network access control to be easily configured.
