A nice way to place eighth notes, dotted quarter notes, quarter notes, etc. on a 16th note piano roll.

I am using the arrow tool and the pen tool with the alternate tool (Ctrl)

  • This piano roll is from Domino Sequencer
  • Bitwig and FLstudio also use similar input methods.
  • Do you know the benefits of not adopting this input method?

  • This is Studio one's piano roll.

  • Do you find yourself wanting to enter notes with different note values?
  • Move vertically while clicking. You will be freed from the reproduced note value.
  • Same operation as before
  • "Reproduce previous note value" interferes with the state immediately after placing the note.

Chord entry becomes easier when the entered note reproduces the previous note value. However, inputting melodies, which used to be easy, is going to be difficult.

When inputting a melody, it would be a nightmare if the notes I typed always had the same note value as the previous note.

It's true that inputting chords that repeat the same note value is a pain. How can I balance both?
