Question

The latest universal control v4.3.0.99834 on all android devices is showing "Mix control is not supported at this screen size".

This has effectivly killed my setup for In-Ear monitoring as all band members can nolonge use the UC App to control their mixes. Even the Tablet with 1900x1200 has the same error!!

Please FIX ASAP

In the meantime how can I downgrade the app to a previous version?

I just found the older version here: https://legacy.presonus.com/products/UC-Surface/downloads

I uninstalled the new version and installed this one and it works again on my 7" tablet. The only issue is that Google Play Store will probably upgrade it again so keep this APK file on your device so you can reinstall. Also you will have to turn on the developer options on your device. There are many articles on the web on how to do that. It's pretty easy. Just clicking something in the device info screen 5 times. Then you can turn on sideloading and install this older version. One other thing it didn't tale 2 minutes for google to want to upgrade it to the new version. So I went into the playstore setting under my profile and turned off auto updates.  Enjoy!

When are Presonus going to respond to this issue. It has now been a couple of weeks since the release of the new UC! As all the Band have updates enabled (Best practices for any Mobile device), we are now in the situation that our Main / InEars (Studiolive 24R) is now a paper weight and unusable without a laptop attached...

This just goes to show how bad quality control has got at Presonus!! They should understand that such changes cause major outages for active bands, church an the like....

Unfortuntaly it doesnt cover turning on developer mode or how to stop the app from auto-updating, so please be careful otherwise you end up in a loop.

Tu es un pur génie même si c'était une idée simple et tu m'as sauvée Car j'ai acheté une tablette exprès pour contrôler ma pressius Car j'ai acheté une tablette exprès pour contrôler ma presonus studio live 16 série 3...

La bonne idée était la sienne il fallait télécharger l'ancienne version via le site de presonus (2018) et activer le mode développeur qui se fait très facilement via une simple recherche sur internet. 

Merci à tous pour se poste et presonus... apprennez à gérer vos infrastructures par ce que je vous défend tous les jours lors de mes prestations... même si je me suis formé seul en 2 ans par ce qu'il n’y presque rien sur le sujet.

Améliorez vous. C’est notre avenir qui est en jeu et notre argent aussi.

I was about to buy a 32R for my band, but reading further I saw a lot of people complaining about their app.

We need to make a huge noise to at least get an answer from Presonus about phone compatibility. Other brands also have fully functioning apps on phones and tablets so not having control on these devices is just nonsense

Just discovered this same issue last eve.  Drove 30 mins away and $20.00 in tolls to tech at a rehearshal and NOTHING.

Same aforementioned SCREEN COMPATIBILITY  ERROR??!!

Someone should have addressed this issue quite some time ago with a compatible soulution/upate to fix this as it seems this has been going on for quite some time now.  PLEASE FIX....great stuff but USELESS without usable GUI.

No sé imaginan el problema que me ocasionaron gracias Presonus! Ayer durante el evento descargue la nueva actualización de UC Surface y que creen? no pude usar  más la consola, el tamaño de la pantalla de mi Tableta android no es compatible, tuve que desmontar todo y armar otra consola para sacar adelante el evento Que dolor de Cabeza!!! porfavor  Presonus una pronta solución o nos veremos obligados de publicar que no compren está consola a los clientes.

Ran into this issue as well. Killed my ability to use my 10'' screen Android tablet to dial in my IEM rig (Studiolive Series III). Hope this is fixed soon.

I have unfortunately have come across this problem too. What the actual F Presonus. I recently bought a 13" Lenovo Think pad and it was pricey but in my budget  because I wanted a larger screen so I sold my old iPads to get a newer pad and now my Persons 32R is useless unless I connect my Laptop to it defeating the purpose of being able to move around with ease. I wish I could switch out computers and iPads all the time but I can't so, I'm gonna keep posting and emailing these folk until they resolve it. I gave them so much hype with people and now if this doesn't get fixed just switch back to X-air or any other digital mixer for live shows. Total let down.

Just here to add my voice as I've lost mix control via my new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.  Missing a huge feature of the Presonus ecosystem.  The install old app work-arounds are not a viable solution.

Update:  They have released Universal Control (iOS/Android) - v 4.3.2.100484 - it is on my Motorola Edge 20 Pro which has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 and even setting the display at the smallest setting it does not work.  The release notes say:

• Android and iOS control panel fix for all supported screen resolutions (minimum 1024 x 768) 

• Universal Control Demo Mode now accessible on small screen tablets

Also does not work on a Huawei 8.4" screen - resolution 2560 x 1600

Can this please be fixed properly?
