problems resizing midi piano notes

So, when I record piano via midi, even with sustain pedal, the notes are very short on the piano roll. When I drag/resize the notes to the right, sometimes they overlap with the following note and the following note doesn't play right when I play it back. Is there a quick and easy way to stretch the notes in lets say, a chord, to the next bar when the next chord is, without them overlapping?

Also, my sustain pedal doesn't work on the midi notes, is there a way to make that work?

THANKS!

Sorry to hear about the recent issues you have been experiencing.

You will need to grab the edge of the MIDI EVENT that will be positioned "underneath" the second event and drag it back so the two events are NOT overlapping on the Instrument track, otherwise all midi nodes on the piano roll for that instrument track will play regardless of what is on top or bottom on the track.

In regards, to the sustain pedal, make sure you have the track monitor for that track enabled. Also make sure in the External Devices window for that MIDI device none of the MIDI filters are check marked, these can block sustain messages.
