So I'm in the process of building a studio and have run into a major problem. I'm trying to figure out how to actually hook my recording rig up to my HP computer which doesn't have any FireWire capability. The way I plan on running things currently are as follows:

StudioLive RM32AI Rack Mount Mixer as the patch bay in my live room. Use a Cat 5 cable out to a StudioLive 32.4.2AI in the control room. Then the main out on this would go to a Monitor Station V2 where I can control the 3 sets of monitors that I have and talkback to 4 sets headphones that would be in the live room.

Where in here, if anywhere could I connect to my PC? Also what additional hardware would I need in order to connect my PC?

With the gear you mention, USB is out. Where you want to start looking is Dante, which uses ethernet connections and standard (for the most part) networking hardware. Dante cards are hitting retail for the RM and AI mixers, and you will also need a virtual soundcard license from the developer.

More information on Dante can be found on the presonus site, as well as the Dante developer Audinate
