MIDI automation in arrangement page

I don't understand how automation of MIDI cc's in the arrange page relate to the music editor. For example, if I draw in some cc1 modulation data in the arrange page, it doesn't show up in the corresponding lane (or anywhere that I can see) in the music editor, and vice versa. But both methods appear to control the cc changes, (or more likely fight against one another). Is there not a way to link the pages together so that any automation data written in one will reflect in the other? If not, I don't understand the point in having cc automation in the arrange page. Depending on what I'm doing, I find it very useful to be able to edit or change cc info in the arrange page, like in Cubase or Pro Tools, but currently the way S1 appears to work makes it all very confusing.

Any help would be most appreciated.

The Automation and Part Automation (automation in the music editor) can not be linked. Part Automation and regular Automation can both contain different data for the same parameter at the same time. So it's good to know that Part Automation will always get priority over the Read state (not Write, Touch, Latch) of regular Automation tracks and lanes.

The difference between regular Automation and Part Automation is that Automation tracks (not lanes on audio or instrument tracks) can hold parameters of any device in the Song. Automation lanes on Instrument & Audio tracks can contain parameters of the connected instrument (in case of an Instrument track) and parameters of devices residing on the channel. Part Automation can only control parameters of the connected instrument (or insert with MIDI input).
