Meaning if I record drums, and after the recording is done from my mixer to studio one, can I use the fader on the mixing board to control the level on the tom, snare, bass etc...On the mixing board not in studio one. But when I play it back again, it comes out as I mixed it on the board. Looking for the feel of analog and want more xlr inputs for recording.

Thanks! Hoping this would work

Hi,
Your AR16 has 18 channels into Studio One but only 4 channels back from Studio One. This means that, if you wanted to mix the drums on your AR16 after the recording was done, you'd need to condense (sub group) hwever many drum channels you'd recorded to output to four channels for mixing. Effectively you'd end up doing a mix of most of the recording in Studio One before it went out to the mixer.

The best way to do this - with an analog feel -  is to get your mix correct on input so that what you record is effectively how you want the end result to sound.

The only other alternative is to mix in Studio One.
