Question

I connected my Adam Audio t5v monitors  to the XLR ports on the Studio Live 32 Series III mixer. 

No sound coming from the monitors. How do I get the sound to come out of the monitors?

First you need to clarify what XLR outputs you are using and where exactly the audio is coming into on the mixer and that you can see metering for this input. 

Please consult the manual for setting up the mixer.

Find you mixer and then go to the "downloads" tab and download the manual. 

If you are using the main left and right then please ensure that the audio source is assigned to the mains etc.

Is the volume knob on the back of the mixer turned up fully?

Yes!!! It is turned up fully.

The volume knob can sometimes cause problems, because it's hidden and nobody usually looks at the back of the mixer.... Well, I suppose you have an (stereo?) input, so check if they are routed to "Main"- Also check if the master volume fader is raised. Do you see incoming and outgoing signals in the LED meters?

I just shut off the monitors, then turned the volume up on the back of the monitor,t hen switched the db to 4.  Then turned them back on.

Sound came out of the monitors after that.
