I did that after each reboot and it just went straight to the dark screen again. Anything else that could be causing this? I never had this issue on my Mac.
related to an answer for: Universal Control shows mostly blacked out screen when connected via WiFi, works fine via USB.

Could you try to give FOH permission to the laptop via your Mac?
