Record Mode - Replace - adds almost a full bar for no reason.

Totally new to Studio One and DAWs in general. When I use replace mode I get almost a full bar that is auto added as soon as I stop recording. This happens with my Komplete S49, Atom, and Keyboard. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Please help.
