When pressing the "mute" button, the next logical thing a user would want to do is control the headphone volume. A suggested behaviour for the mute button is that activating mute switches the encoder to headphone volume, and deactivating mute switches the encoder to speaker volume. Pressing the encoder would otherwise work exactly as it does presently, regardless of the mute state.
