I want to create a point where it goes from 120 bpm to 140 bpm and I don't want a gradual slope where the audio slowly speeds up. I want the tempo change of 140 to affect everything after it so that everything after is 140 bpm.

I am aware that you can create a second point and drag it on top of another point to get rid of the gradual change but it feels like such a sloppy way of changing the tempo. Moving the points left and right creates a bunch of weird issues and feels clunky to use. Is there any other way that does not involve me having to create two points?

1. Make the Tempo track visible.

2. [Assuming you already have the song at 120 bpm...] Locate the point where you want the tempo change to occur and place a point on the line.

3. Move a bit to the right and place a second point.

4. Grab the second point and drag it up to 140 bpm.

5. Finally, move the second point directly above the first point (you should now see the two points stacked, one above the other).

As long as there is no other point (a third point) to the right, everything beyond your change will be at 140 bpm.
