Question

Given that there is a lot of processing power within any studiolive product,

I thought that with some clever firmware this might be doable.

1. Add a sub menu, that would generate a stored pink noise file.

2. Route the Talkback mic frequency response  onto the GEQ section., I would think an FFT to the 31 spectral bins would be a  fairly quick operation, given that you have the transmitting signal characterised already.

3. Using the fader Locate button highlight where the peaks and troughs are in the EQ .

4  Users  can then manually. or alternatively press the recall button or some other system button to auto trim.

In my head at least it doesn't seem that crazy an idea. and it would mean that the 16.0.2./16.4.2 etc could do standalone  RTA of sorts.

It would not be as comprehensive as the Laptop solution but it could help in situations where a band member is also the sound guy and the clock is ticking, a common occurrence in my case, very often I'm using desks standalone i.e. not laptop.

It would also be a game changer for the smaller family of boards, especially for those working /weekend warrior bands.

I would love to read your thoughts on this.

by the way thanks for making the studio live series, my band uses the 16.4.2 for our main desk and we keep a 16.0.2 for smaller event or as a back-up ( which has never been needed)

I use the StudioLive Series II 32C, 32R and 24R and would absolutely love a proper room EQ workflow on the Series II mixers through UC Surface or Universal Control.
Something with a spectrogram where a reference microphone can be compared to the signal sent out by the mains would also be great.
