  • Your Computer Make and Model: ASUS
  • Operating System and Version: Windows 7
  • Application Version: StudioLive RM16AI
  • Audio Interface and it's Driver Version: PreSonus FireStudio, PreSonus Audio Electronics
  • Digital Mixer and it's Driver/Firmware Version: RM16AI
  • I understand that section 3.10 of the operating manual explains how to set up FireWire, but all it really says is to have a firewire card and plug it in. (The graphic doesn't seem to be posting correctly, but it is a picture of the Windows mixer playing sound.)
  • Windows appears to be set up and trying to play, but no sound is coming out.
  • This is what I see in the AI Mixer: (The image does not seem to be coming through, but the AI mixer FireWire channels do not indicate sound.)
  • I have Guitar, Drums, Bass, mics, etc. plugged in to audio inputs and I am getting sound out of them, but computer audio is not coming through.

No, it's not only a FireWire connection needed. The manual also says this: "With Windows, the RML-series mixer uses a PreSonus FireStudio ASIO driver, installed with UC Surface, and shows up in the Sound control panel as a PreSonus FireStudio interface." This article from the Knowledge Base should explain it all. If you search for "audio firewire", you find more articles.

Please note that the FireWire returns are normally routed to channels 1+2 of your mixer, so you need to select FireWire as input. Part B) of the article describes how to change the routing to the "digital return" (Dig Ret) stereo channel. There is NO processing on the digital return.
