Question

When enabling "Takes to Layers" in the Record panel, and as described in the help document, "The last recorded take is placed on the Track automatically".

This is somewhat counterintuitive to me, because if I only take a partial new take of the original track, then the original content on the track is "deleted", and replaced partially by the new take. How am I supposed to be able to comp back some of what was originally on the track if it gets replaced by the latest take?

I'm sure it's something obvious to experts, but I'm most certainly missing step here.

Alright, I think I answered my own question.

Problem was simply that I had recorded my first take BEFORE enabling "Takes to layers".

If I enable it before the first take, then it all makes sense, as my entire first take is elevated to the Track.
