Conducting a demo of Studio One with prime and a Audiobox USB 2x2. I cannot get the AB USB connected and I keep getting a "USB device malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it" message whenever I try to connect.

I'm Running Win-10/64 with latest updates and have downloaded the USB driver/Universal controller from the Web site. I have followed the installation procedures and have done several Installs/Uninstalls with info. obtained from the forums. I have moved the USB connection to a rear port (motherboard) and reinstalled from scratch but still receive the same response.

The only thing I can think of is trying it the old fashioned way,

Open the device manager in windows. To do this, you'll need to open the all settings window and search for device manager.

From there, find the device with the exclamation point next to it. Unplug and plug it back in a few times to make sure that it goes away and comes back. That way you know that you're actually looking at the right one. Once you know that, doubleclick on it then choose update driver. You should be able to find an option that lets you specify location. The drivers should be located in program files\presonus\universal control\drivers. (assuming you've installed the universal control software)

If it doesn't work doing it this way you should probably open a support ticket.

Try plugging it into the back of the computer, i.e. directly into the motherboard, rather than the front.

Sounds stupid and simple but worked first try.

Hi, I had the same problem in the last days and I was unable to uninstall the driver. Though, I fixed it by closing the « Universal Control » app. Then it worked perfectly, and I was able to open again Universal Control without issues.

I hope it can help solve the issue for some of you.

Have a nice day,

Maxence
