Question

I purchased a 1824c, D8 and FaderPort 16. I then installed Studio One Artist 4 and all the needed updates for all this gear. It was my hope to just pass the eight ADAT channels from the D8 through the 1824c to Studio One Artist 4 and control it from the FaderPort 16. But I am finding that the D8 is just a pass-through ADA converter and I have not been able to control those upper 8 ADAT channels with my FaderPort 16. I have been in contact with customer support, but they are not giving me the urgent answers that I need to make the FaderPort 16 fully functional. Additionally, I am having serious noise issues that I believe is being caused by a bad channel in the D8.

So, I am wondering if I connect a second 1824c to another USB port on my computer, will the second 1824c show up in the Universal Control panel and become as functional on the FaderPort 16 as the initial first 1824c?

Never mind. The problems I was having with FP16 were resolved.

1. I made sure that I was booted up in the Studio One mode.
2. I performed a complete factory reset.
3. I UPDATED the FP16 firmware to 3.XX (it was 2.XX, I thought I had already done that).
4. Rebooted FP16 a couple of times.

All the problems that I was experiencing went away. I am not sure which step above cleared the issue. Nobody was able to explain why I could only get 8 channels of control out of the FP16.

This was a very frustrating experience. I worked on trying to resolve this issue for over a week. I lost valuable time trying to get my new studio up and running. I have several other issues and learning curves to resolve. This problem was paralyzing to my ability to progress onto getting full functionality of my equipment.
