While using the Atom in Studio One with 3rd party VSTi plugins, it automatically goes to the Keyboard Mode. This means, that only 13 of the 16 pads are available for me. Is there a workaround for this? I can use a 3rd party midi translator to change the notes triggered by the pads, but I'm still limited by the 13/16 pads, and cannot use my usual layout for finger-drumming.

Please, Presonus, this device has so much potential. Let it spread the wings it already has by lifiting the silly limitations.

There is a workaround for this in Studio One.

  • Make sure that track with the VST loaded into it is selected.
  • Click on Edit at the bottom right hand of corner of the screen. This will bring up the midi event editor panel for the track.
  • Click on the Drum Mode icon. It's the snare drum icon located directly below the Listen Tool icon in the editor's toolbar. This button, along with the Keyboard Mode button next to it, toggles both the keyboard roll layout in the editor window and the orientation of the ATOM's pads.
