Bought S1 4.5 upgrade artist to professional, but says product key for professional has been registered already?

I purchased Studio One Artist as a trial, registered and downloaded it. I decided to buy the upgrade Studio One Professional, so I bought it, received the activation key, and put it into the Studio One Activation dialogue box as an upgrade key. However, there's an error, and I keep receiving a message that reads 'This Key has already been registered.' It hasn't. I purchased the upgrade and I would like to use it. Please help.

raise a support ticket from within your account.

If you have already activated the upgrade on mypresonus and then put it into the upgrade key in the studio one application you will receive the error code. The upgrade key was used to upgrade the version and is now a product key that is to be used by itself.  Try to activate it as a normal product and it should work.

I have the same problem. I believe it is there because my key is registered to an old email account that I don't have access to. I tried calling customer support but I guess it does not exist because I cannot get a live person to help me with this problem. I also submitted a ticket online multiple times. Has anyone experienced issues with customer support?
