UPDATE: I contacted PreSonus who were great, but said the responsibility is with Waves, and Waves only officially support v12 of their plugins for Studio One 5+. The only solution seems to be upgrade to Waves v12. Unfortunately I'm not prepared to pay the cost of the update, so have moved over to Slate Digital and couldn't be happier with them! Shame as I've spent many hundreds of pounds on the Waves plugins over the years.

Since the update to Studio One 5.2 all my Waves (v10+v11) plugins display super small in the corner of the plugin window with a red screen filling the space.

The GUI of the plugin also has no relation to where the mouse cursor is. Its reacting like the plug in is still full screen.

Anyone else having this issue?

I am having the same issue.  Luckily I did not delete Studio One 4 so can still use that.

For me it appears as if the image is just too small if I mouse over the red area in the location where the knobs would be if the image was full scale I can see the controls for that area moving. Weird.

I'm seeing this too, but not with all Waves plugins. The V10 & V11 VST3 versions have the issue, but the V12 versions are working for me.

The weird thing is that updating the plugin—in this case the PuigChild Compressor—to V12 isn't fixing the issue for the VST3 version, but does seem to get the AU version to work.

Meanwhile, selection some of the old V10 AU versions that I didn't update will crash Studio One.

UPDATE: I was able to get the V12 VST3 version to work by fiddling with a bunch of stuff in Waves Central settings and Studio One plugin path and scanning settings. I'd tell you exactly how I did it, except I did all the things.

The remaining V10 & V11 versions continue to not work properly.

I have the tiny red screens in my waves plugs too.

Mix of version 10 & 11.

I had exactly the same problem. None of the Waves plugins are scaling properly - they are too small to see and the controls don't work. To fix this you have to upgrade to Waves V12. You might be able to do this for free if you have a Waves Update Plan that hasn't expired. By chance, most of mine hadn't expired and I only had to pay for one upgrade, which cost me 15 USD. They all work ok now.

I do find the Waves Update Plan hard to understand and I still don't understand what Second Licences are for. I don't recall paying for either in the past, but I appear to have them. The deal seems to be that if you have an Update Plan, you can get the latest version of the plugin at any time and that includes and major version upgrades like v11 to V12. That's not very clear on their website.

Version updates seem to be an industry wide problem. I am switching from Cubase Artist because they won't support Mac OS Big Sur unless you buy an upgrade to V11, for which they want 110 UK pounds. It's barely 2 years since I bought V10. I'm hoping that Studio One has more acceptable upgrade costs. Functionally, it's very similar to Cubase, but the GUI is a bit messy in comparison. I think I can live with that, but I can't live with being blackmailed into paying large amounts of money forn new function I don't need, just to keep up with operating system changes.

Rant over. Good luck with Waves

It s a shame to be forced to pay for the waves plugins update. This business model is awful and I won’t buy some other plugins until there is some change.

On the other hand, presonus should also try to work with waves and solve the problem. Too easy to say it is not their fault. We are in the middle and we’ve paid …
