So i just downloaded studio one 4 artist and the AU/rewire vst support add-on. Every time i open studio one and everything is loading up, it says “⚠️Restart requested by Audio device!” So it says it goes to “windows audio” But when i go to make a new song, everything works fine and i can record and hear myself. Im wondering what the problem is and how i can fix it! I want my programs to work fully and have nothing weong with them. Please let me know how/if i need to fix it and if its a problem, thanks!

Studio One Options > Audio Setup > Audio Device > Control Panel.

Turn Exclusive mode off (as stated already elsewhere), and select your speakers and microphone/inputs properly.  In Windows, Control Panel, Sound, and for Recording and Playback devices right click the ones you want and pick your default devices properly (Set as Default is sufficient, Set as Default Communications is unnecessary.)

This error can come up on machines with "soft" devices such as Virtual Audio Cable or NDI devices where the control Studio One is asking for confuses the driver and generates errors or puts undue load on the CPU.

Ok I got the same thing requesting restart from audio devise simple window does what windows does it switched audio on you to ...Window.  So go into options when Studio One launches and select audio you will see that go down the dropdown list choose your interface and save restart program.

I've had the Presonus Audiobox usb with Studio one for three days and just got the "restart requested by the audio device" message. I'm not a computer person and it took me over 4 hours to figure out how to download everything and to record off the microphone. I've turned it off and on several times without problems. Now it doesn't work. I've read through the thread and understand about 20% of it at best. All I know is that it's not working anymore. Is it broken or what?? It took me long enough to get it working and I don't want to be wasting my time trying to troubleshoot the thing. What gives? Frustrated.

I was able to get my device working again by

1. choosing a different audio device

2. close Studio One

3. restart Studio One

4. go back to the failing device
